12 Weeks of Techno: Eyes and Ears on the Ground / Week 10 March 16, 2016 12:06
If you've not been to Watford, you haven't lived. If you have been to Watford and haven't gone to the brand new Hydeout nightclub, you're a bit simple. I caught up with @helaynak, the Hydeout events manager, and quizzed her about what she got up to when she snuck off to XOYO for last Saturday night's 10th Week of Techno.
Here's the transcript:
Q. What's your name and where do you come from?
A. I'm Helayna from North London, but Cardiff originally - no judging! ;) And no, I'm not that fond of sheep...
Q. What clothes and perfume did you wear for XOYO?
A. Black of course, it is a techno night after all...a little leather skirt with a black top accompanied with a dash of Chanel Chance.
Q. Did you pull?
A. Unfortunately not, despite being on the prowl, so to speak.
Q. Tune of the night?
A. Pop (Dub) by Danny Daze went off rather nicely around 3am!
Q. Stone cold sober or absolutely fucking terminated?
A. After about a bottle of wine, 3 rounds of tequila shots and some double vodka cokes I would hope I wasn't stone cold sober...
Q. Any funny anecdotes from the night?
A. I think almost falling down the stairs when first entering the club was a good start.
Q. What time did you leave the club?
A. When the music stopped around 4am - who would leave before? Sleeping's overrated.
Q. Will you be going along to any of the other Weeks of Techno?
A. As it so happens I'm back again this weekend for a bit of Nina Kravitz! XOYO seems a fail safe place to head to on a Saturday night these days...and I am big fan of Scuba, of course!
What a lovely young lady! Lads, if you're going down XOYO this Saturday night, shave your balls, splash on a load of Joop, get your chat-up lines prepared and keep your nostrils peeled for Chance by Chanel. It might very well be your lucky night, know what I mean? Winking smiley face.
I'll be back on the telly tomorrow with the 4th Week of Video Blogs. I'm really excited because Jo Whiley has invited me into the Live Lounge of her MASSIVE three bedroom house in Radio 1 to perform a whining, slowed-down cover of an upbeat banger.
